Ron Jarrett
Who is this guy?
Have you ever heard the phrase, "Nice matters?" Let me tell you a little thing about this guy, named Ron, pictured above with my sister Sharon This is during a silly game in high school. Here is a picture of me in 10th grade. What you don't see are the dark-rimmed glasses I had to wear, which I removed for the photo. I looked a bit like a geek. My first year in high school I was scared to death to walk up and down the halls. I knew that I had the wrong clothes and the wrong hair style, and that if I should say something it would be stupid. Every day this guy named Ron, a really friendly popular boy, always surrounded by lots of girls, would see me in the hall and just say, "Hey, how's it going?" He always made me feel like I was worth speaking to. He already had a girlfriend, and I was certainly nothing to look at my sophomore year, so obviously he was not hitting on me. Ron is in the upper right grinning in the above photo. Each day that I walked down those halls afraid of my own shadow, there he'd be, with this huge grin, saying, "Hey, Kathi, how's your day going?" It would change my day from cloudy to sunny in that instant. I could get through the day, because he said, "Hello to me." People may not remember what you say, but they will remember how you made them feel. Years later I got to be one of the bride's maids at his wedding. Thanks Ron for being nice to a wall flower girl. I'm sorry I didn't see you at the reunion.

The 30th From Kathi's Perspective
Here are a few photos from our 30th reunion. If you'd like a close up, click on the photo. Cherilyn W., Kathi W., Erin E. and Molly H. Thanks Don I. for taking our picture!
Penny, Terry, Shelly, me and Brian. We all went to the same elementary school. I remember sitting next to Brian in 2nd grade. I can still picture the two of us seated in our little desks as children side by side. The memories go way back.
The next morning we got to tour our high school. Here I am standing by my locker. I shared a locker with Molly and Jon. We used to call ourselves "Three's Company," after the tv show. Chris and I always wished we had solo voices, but alas neither of us could sing very well. So here we are in the choir room pretending we could sing.
Me with Todd and Cherilyn, finally being photographed with the popular guys. I'm so happy to have Cherilyn for my friend again. We reconnected last summer. She is a doll. This was so fun.
These guys were some of the funniest guys in school. They met us out front and wanted to take a picture by the sign: Russell, Randy, Cherilyn, me, Mike, and Steve. Russell and Randy were in my home-ec class with me. I went out with Russell and Steve once, and I dated Mike for a couple of months. It was great to see them all again. This is me at the more formal gathering. I loved my dress. It swooshed out and went to just above the ankle. I went out on the dance floor with my girl friends and my sister Sharon. We had a lot of fun being silly doing the "Macarena" and the "Bump" together. I had fun twirling in my dress. This is Molly, my best friend from high school. She has always encouraged and supported me. The first day of school my junior year, I was alone, as my friend Karen had moved away. I prayed for a new friend. God answered that prayer. The first day of school, first class, Molly walked up to me and said, "Hi, I'm new here, do you want to be friends." Isn't God awesome? I'm so thankful for all the blessings He gives me. My friend Erin and her husband. I'm so happy that we are still friends after all these years. She and I went to school and church together. Erin is so sweet and such a darling person This is my sister Sharon and her husband Eric. Sharon looked so pretty. I'm so glad we get to share this event. God blessed me in so many ways. I felt comfortable and glad to see so many friends again. Suzie, Carrie and Cari did such a great job doing all the hard work of putting the reunion together. Thank you so much ladies. I tried to add their photos from the disk Suzie gave me.

Us Awbrey Parkers trying to get Dave M.'s attention. We know he went to this school too, in 2nd grade, but he ignores us.
We went to Awbrey Park Elementary students. Kathi remembers, fondly sitting next to Brian S. in 2nd grade. Penny M., Terry C., Shelly V., Kathi W. and Brian S.
Okay, finally, the rest of us Awbrey Park Elementary students below:
Front left to right: Billy A., Penny M., Shelly V., Curt C., KathyD. Brian S, Cathy C., Kevin B., Debbie S. Back: Terry C., and (me) Kathi W. .
Tom B. and Dave M. showing what they've still got.
Tom B.'s abs.
Dave M.'s abs. So who's the winner? They are both decent. I think you would not like to see mine (Kathi's) after four children, but I'm so happy to have my children, that it's okay.
