Skipper O. and Kathi W. I was completely stunned that they chose me for prom queen. One week before the prom I didn't even have a date. My brother-in-law Eric E., who was then dating my sister Sharon, asked Skipper to take me. Skip took pity on me and asked me!!!!!
I went with Skipper to pick up his tux and he kept singing that song "You're As Cold As Ice," because I wouldn't let him kiss me. He took me out to dinner at the German restaurant, which has since burned down:( He was a gentleman and we had a great time.
When we got to the prom, I said, "Look, Laurie A. is on the ballot, let's vote for her." Skipper said, "Look, your name is this list too! Let's vote for you!" I was amazed! My name on the ballot? Me?
